this would not be obvious because the language structure of chinese (and I think japanese too) do not really have a past, present and future tense.

but well, I am with the idea of making it past, since it seemed like kyon was narrating his thoughts out loud to koizumi (thus past tense) instead of going back to that time in his memory (which would make it present tense)

yeah. or would you like to start on chapter two instead? tempted to translate another chapter after I wrap this one up, which should not take more than a week, seeing where I have reached.

another reason for wanting to take it over is because I think I am doing too little for the project, especially since I am recongised as a translator and yet worked on only one chapter. compared to people like you, holycow and kinny, I feel that I contributed way too little.

but since you took it first, I leave you with the liberty to make the decision.

IMO BaKaFiSh it would be better if you let deskoh do Chapter 1 (since he's almost finished the chapter and will probably be free next week) and you do Chapter 2. This way you'll have more time to, ahem, finish the chapter up. (along with FMP, ZnT, OtoBoku and whatever new projects you have taken up ;P)

I know I am not part of this convesation... but I also agree on giving deskoh the authority on translating chapter 1.
