Unconfirmed Haruhi Suzumiya Anime Second Season

As I posted on the AnimeSuki boards:

I was lurking on the Narutofan forums (hi PhantomX!) reading the Channel 12 topic of MoHS and towards the end a poster said that a friend of his e-mailed Kyoani inquiring about a second season... and got a response! This is unconfirmed because it's not from any official source, but he said that there will be a second season after they are done with the Kannon remake and one other show not mentioned (he said November would be the possible start time). What it will cover is unknown because that, also, wasn't mentioned.

Now that Naruhi merchandize gets red hot (the Haruhi rock concert song "God knows" climbed to #5 in pop song chart, etc.) Kyoani needs to go into a big accounting scandal and got liquidated so as not to make a second season of Haruhi.

The second biggest evidence of Kyoani's intent to make a second season for me, however, lies at the ending animation. One might notice the scene when SOS-dan shot the Mikuru film, but the next scene of SOS-dan hot pot party is never related to Season 1's storyline. That is actually the scene in Vol4, and by putting that scene in, Kyoani is making a silent pledge in doing a second season...

...Or is it only my optimism / Haruhigasm?

If you look in Kyoto Animation's work of AIR TV, episode 2 had cameos of three of the heroines from Kanon, with the voice actors, even. And now they're making a Kanon remake.

Sort of tells you their attitude based on what they throw in, huh?

Speaking on this topic, there is this interview for Japanese readers. Vallen Chaos Valiant from the Megatokyo forums says the translation is this:

According to the interview of the director, from the most recent August Megami magazine, the decision to omit Bamboo Rhapsody was to allow a (hopeful) sequel where it would be mixed with the "Disappearance of Suzumiya Haruhi"

Another point from the same interview, was that "Endless eight" was an intended episode that was dropped. Thus the "Melancholy" arc was stretched over 6 episodes instead of the intended 5.
The fact that the second-last episode seemed more "stretched" (i.e. Taxi scene) is most likely caused by this. According to the director, episode 13 and 14 Kyon order was suppose to be a single episode.

Well that means only one more month until Haruhi season 2 comse out. GOD I've already converted to Haruhism so right now i'm full of Butterflies. I wish I had Haruhi's brain, i could slack all i want but still do awsome on tests.

Whats the current word on Season 2? I heard sometime next fall possibly.

Current thinking, I believe, is that it will be in the fall season next year, making it Kyoto Animation's next-but-one project, after Lucky Star.

This was reported in the 'Moonphase' blog, which also claimed a second series of Zero no Tsukaima was about to be announced, and just recently has been.

So, basically, we're just waiting for confirmation.

Haruhi 2 was supposedly originally starting in the fall, after Lucky Star.
