This year, Haruhi is now in her second year in high school, and is still searching for mysteries and strange events; as usual, she doesn't find a single one. Even so, she does meet a strange new exchange student from another country, and reluctantly offers him a place at her house after his admission that he doesn't have anywhere to stay.
However, Haruhi is unaware that this new student is one of the Dimensional Sliders that came into existence after she wished for them years ago, along with aliens, time travelers and espers.
The new student's name is Alan, and his confusion at being dropped off all too suddenly in Haruhi's universe is later clarified by three other Dimensional Sliders. These Sliders that Alan interacts with all come from a variety of places: Kanata Izumi (Lucky Star), Saya Minatsuki (Black Cat), and Fuko Ibuki (Clannad).
Haruhi, after finding Alan an "interesting person", forces Alan to join the SOS-Brigade. While attending North High, Alan has a bizarre experience, where he gets trapped in an odd dimension and is confronted by a giant Celestial. In that incident however, Alan is saved by Fuko, who also attends North High in order to watch over Haruhi. After dispatching the Celestial, Fuko explains that whenever Haruhi is experiencing high mental or emotional stress, a crisis called a 'Dimensional Quake' occurs and these quakes cause massive damage to the balance between various dimensions. After almost being killed by a Celestial, Alan begins to realise the scope of Haruhi's powers, and how important it is to keep Haruhi's rampaging emotions under control.
Kyon, on the other hand, is looking forward to the Junior High Reunion that will take place shortly after the Tanabata Festival, as he will get to meet an old friend. But with a whole new faction of supernatural beings to deal with, Kyon is even more exhausted than before. However, he is not the only one having problems. Haruhi herself might not look troubled on the outside, but ever since she met Kyon's junior high school friend Sasaki, Haruhi cannot stop thinking about her. Recently, Haruhi has been keeping a closer watch over Kyon, checking constantly to see where he goes to.

I havnt read it all yet (ill wait till its all finished)
but after browsing through a little bit. The story contains things like the new main character: Alan going through multiple worlds (because he is a slider). Some of these worlds include settings like ZNT, Code Geass, Shakugan no Shana, Higurashi no Naku koro ni, almost all of Key's works (Air, Kanon, ets), Lucky Star, and maybe some more.
