How popular is it in Japan? And any news for a possible anime adaptation?

Oh, was there a teaser for the Bakatsuki wiki, which I missed?

Btw. whats the storyline? Is it as sad as Fushigi Yuugi?

I have managed to finish translating the first chapter now and am just past 1/3 for the second chapter.
The link is:
http://noone2246.wordpress.com/
However I have no idea how to start a page on BT for it though, so if someone wants to, feel free. Since I am doing this externally, I wonder if I need to get a wiki supervisor to approve of this project or not.

Do you have also a wiki account?

Would it be ok for you if the translated text is also added or would you prefer just links?

Btw. are the characters in middle or in high school?

Well no I do not have a wiki account.

Currently the person doing the TLC owes me $40 and so he has made himself scarce, I don't mind the text being put up, but what you put up will be raw untranslated unedited text. I think put up the text of chapter one as it is completed, but leave chapter 2 as a link as it is incomplete.

The characters are first year High school kids.
The blurb has been translated and it is on the book jacket in one of the images on the blog.

If you had a B-T wiki account it would be easier to credit the translation to your Alias if it were ok for you that it would be added to the wiki.

Oh, your TLC seems to be expensive... is your raw translation really that bad?

Oh, I did ask because of "On the first day of middle high life, in a seating pattern set out as male/female, sitting in front of me is a female student with extremely long hair." which let me think that it maybe is still in middle school? - I thought I already understood the Japanese school system of Elementary (6) -> Middle School (3)-> High School (3) -> University

the chinese used 高中 which is really confusing.
Later on it uses highschool.

He borrowed $40 to buy some paintball tickets.

I'll create a wiki account later/soon

Doesnt it mean high school too? - Well, I mean at least Rikaichan has it as (senior) Highschool too.

Comparing the two school systems then isnt the senior highschool in PRC/ROC at the same stage as highschool in Japan - (classes 10 to 12)?

Hi I created a wiki account,

I come from Australia where the schooling system is Primary school and then high school which depending on the school will 'label' students as either senior (years 11 & 12) or junior (7 - 10) google and online search recognises this as as senior high school and I will change my translation accordingly. Thanks for the heads up.

Do I need to contact the admins about creating a wiki page for this project?

Guidelines here: https://www.baka-tsuki.org/project/inde ... Guidelines

Short answer is yes, you are supposed to, but it can be after you've created the page (just notification, you don't need to wait for a reply before starting).

Ah, you intend to create the page yourself? - Nice! - Otherwise I would have probably waited for a while and then would have tried to create the page myself, but I think its best, when the ones with probably the most knowledge of the series here around does stuff like that themself, because I think this will lead to the best results for the accuracy of the content.

But should questions arise just ask! - I think here are enough who could help (I am not the fastest or most knowledgeable here around, but I would help too, if it were in my abilities.)

So Good Luck!

Btw our schoolsystem is also different and I think usually a translator tries to find the best equivalent from knowledge or experience of the own system so its not easy to find the right one, so that the international readers understand it in the same manner, I would assume.

大學 - Big school or else uni as it is called
中學 - middle school or else high school in most other countries
小學 - small school or simply primary school.

this is why it confuses me a bit with the school naming system.

Currently I can't figure out how to upload images for the page, but apart from that I think the page should have been made correctly.

There is a link to this page near the bottom of the left sidebar; just select the file on your computer and enter the filename appropriately.

I come from a chinese school system, which is similar to the Japanese system. It goes like this.
小学(primary school, 6yrs)->中学(secondary school, 5/6yrs)->大学(university, 3-4yrs)
During secondary school, we split into two parts. The first three years are 初/国中 (junior high, or what some may call middle high), and the rest is 高中(senior high, or what you guys really call high school)。
In the first chapter of the book, he referred to the first day of his senior high school life, which is 高中, after he referred to his graduation from junior high.
Winter's the time of the year,
when the cold chill the skin,
from the very within,
but you grasped my hand,
your eyes shedding a frozen tear.
Our eyes met,
and warmth filled the air.
